Upcoming Holiday Shows

Holiday craft show season in upon us! I am starting next weekend (November 23-24) at Brooklyn Renegade at One Hanson Place in Brooklyn. I went to this venue a few years ago to visit the Brooklyn Flea, so I am so excited to be doing a show in such a gorgeous building (that's the main hall in the photo below).

Then after Thanksgiving, I am headed to Chicago for the first time EVER for the Renegade Craft Fair Chicago on December 7th and 8th.

And from there I am heading to DC for my fifth annual Downtown Holiday Market! I will be there every day from Wednesday, December 11th to Tuesday, December 17th! This was the market that launched my business in 2009 and it's my favorite show every year. I hope you can make it to one of these shows, I will have a ton of new designs and new products that aren't available online, so come by and take a look and stock up on prints before Christmas!

Block Printed Wallpapers from Galbraith and Paul

Galbraith and Paul, one of the only companies still doing large-scale block printing in the United States, just came out with a new line of wallpapers. Each piece is printed by hand in a variety of colors, and has a coordinating block printed fabric that goes with it (like in the photo below). Now I can get started on my all-block printed house. Would that be too much?

And, some photos of the printers in action around the Philadelphia studio:

Catching My Eye

Here are a few prints from around the web that have been catching my eye lately. I especially like the old printed style of the first three postage stamp designs...

Custom Wedding Invitations

I've spent a lot of time this year working on custom wedding invitations, but it mostly goes on behind the scenes (although I occasionally share pictures on Instagram). but today I wanted to share the finished product on a few invitations I have worked on recently.

First up is Blake and Saiba's Indian-inspired invitations. They chose letterpress, and I hand-drew the border and the elephants for this wedding suite. I love the color palette of coral, navy and turquoise that they used.

For Ashley and Steven's Ontario farm wedding, I block printed a monochromatic floral design on the invitation. Their wedding was in a barn so they wanted a rustic feel that incorporated the sage color they were using throughout.

Doug and Katie got married at a vineyard and used a palette of purple and lime green. I actually created this design for them and liked it so much I debuted it at the National Stationery Show. Luckily I got to be a guest at this amazing wedding!

Karlyn and Andrew had a Minnesota summer wedding and wanted to use a light purple floral theme throughout, so I created this block printed border for them and finished it off with a light purple liner.

So that is a look at what has been going on behind the scenes here! I loved working on all of these weddings and will have more to share as they roll off the press!
