Block Printed Pillows

There are some new pillows in the shop! They are block printed on fair-trade organic cotton giving them a really nice, heavy-weight feel. You can find them right here (the design was inspired by this trip in Udaipur).

My friend Cassie came up to visit this summer, and while she was here she shot some footage of me carving a linoleum block. Cassie is an amazing filmmaker (you can see her other videos here) and she turned it into this beautiful video that shows the full block printing process, from a sketch to a print.

American Made Awards

Big news today...I made it to the 100 Finalists in the Martha Stewart American Made Awards! This is an audience choice award with a prize of $10,000, a trip to New York City, and a feature in Martha Stewart Living Magazine (it's pretty big). There are 100 artists and designers now in the running, and I am one of them!

New Notepads in the Shop

I launched some new notepads at the National Stationery Show in May, and now they are up in the shop! Each pack comes with a set of two 4" x 6" pads, each with 50 pages, for just $9.00. Perfect for to-do lists and phone pads (I have sheets of this paper all over the house with notes and lists on them). You can find them in the shop right here.

Around the Studio

The big tasks this week have been printing and organizing. Since I moved the studio, I never really found a place for everything and there were lots of piles and boxes that never found a home. So I finally got around to ordering some filing cabinets, shifting the furniture around and finding a home for all the papers, supplies, and files that had accumulated. It's much easier to work when you don't have to rummage around and jump over piles to find what you're looking for.

Heading to Fall

It's starting to really cool off in Vermont, and fall is definitely moving in. I think I'll be wearing this outfit constantly until I need to switch sweaters for huge parkas:
